Is there going to be a ViaCAD 7 Pro release soon?

If I upgrade to ViaCAD V7, do I lose the features that V6 shares with V7 Pro, so that I must go up to V7 Pro?

I second the question. VC 2D/3D is nice, as i'm on Pro, i am not sure i want to run two different-featured apps. But, i do find myself wanting to open two separate copies of VCP, so that one is my "working, with only ONE active file open" area and the other my "reference view with one or more files open" area. I wish this because a few things are happening:

1: my files that reach 40 MB take one to 2 minutes to save

2: my 40 MB files cause a 20MB memory footprint of VCP to ballone to 400MB, then become sluggish and cause resources to be lost, and sometimes i cannot change properties, forcing me to save, then close & reopen, meaning every other

3. my reference file/s increase VCP's system resources footprint to 798MB to 1.4 GB if i open a duplicated 30mb file

4. i end up copying a number of layers of items to work on in a less huge file, but then have to regard it as a construction file and have to remember to work on only ONE task in it so i don't spawn numerous files each containing more or less than another

5. closing the single app means closing out all my reference files and then reopening everythng else.

Can Punch! create a vc3/vcp/shx light which is a viewer with read-only functions so it has a smaller footprint?

Thanks Tim! I, too, appreciate your response. I have something to look forward to! I'm getting excited. I will think of a few procedural/macro dream-list items for workflow purposes. Not that they'll go into VCP, but...

Well,

Have a great 3-Day Weekend!
