Hi Guys,
I had started this thread in the wrong place and at the time I thought I had the problem solved, but we know what thought thought! Yeah I got it wrong.
From the beginning. I am new to VC2D3D v9 coming from v8 and User Symbols are treated and filed differently. I have found that if I file my User File within the application, along with the Symbols provided I can access them from Concepts Explorer but it generates an additional User flag with its leader arrowhead, this is okay but I can't save new files back into the application—the normal sequence is to direct the Save as Symbol through the Documents files. Setting up a 'User' file, with its cascade down into my individual drawings was no problem and it saves perfectly—the problem is that I cannot access these files because the 'User' flag in Concepts explorer doesn't appear to be active, i.e. it cannot see the files. In my search I found that 'right clicking' on the 'User" flag elicits an alert that says 'Reload', which seemed to be the answer—but it stops there, with no instructions on how to advance.
So the question remains—how can I access my filed symbols to be able to drag and drop them from Concepts Explorer./

Hi Tim,

Back to helping me out. It was downloaded on-line directly from the Apple App Store purchased via iTunes card. The 'about pane' says this copy of ViaCAD 2d3dv9 is v9.0.3 and it is for Mac running OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite.

Thanks again Tim.

Ps. What was the reason for shifting the user file from the encore file in Application Support—seemed to work fine?

Hi Alan

Apple limits the locations that the app can write to for App Store products.

Still checking into…

Thanks Tim,

I noticed in one of the other threads a reference to 'com.encore.viacadprov9' and wondered why there was no equivalent in 2D3D as before. So it is down to Apple! This makes me wonder if the program function for Concepts Explorer is still looking in Application Support for the 'encore' file. If this is the case, does it mean you will have to write different programs dependent on your commercial outlets? Sounds like a lot of trouble to me. Hope you can find a resolution. In the meantime I will just slot 'my' user symbols into Application Support under the provided Symbols—that does actually work (producing an additional User flag, this time with a function arrow to open the cascade), which actually gave rise to my thoughts about where Explorer is looking for 'User'.

Thanks again Tim.

Regards Alan.

Ps. Am I entering these posts correctly as I find I have a different series of buttons at he top (without the Thank button)
