Having recently bought Via CAD 2D V9 I decided my drawing was finally worth Printing. The result was small drawing on an A4 sheet with margins of: Top 38mm, Left 65, ,Right 85 and Bottom 69mm. I assumed this was something I had done incorrectly but after much searching and experimenting could find nothing. Experiments included exporting to PDF and JPG with a similar result.
I then printed two of the 2D Templates provide with the program with identical results.
Any one wishing to see what is happening can follow these two links.

I am Using Mac OS 10.10.1 and Version 9.0.2, Build 1144.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank You

Have you used the page layout under the file menu to define the paper size and the scale of the drawing?

Regards

Jason

I believe so Jason but thanks for the thought.
I will attach a screen shot of the Page Layout window which shows the correct size for the paper or printing area (290 by 202) and my scale of 1:15. Perhaps you may be able to see something I have missed.

Thanks again, Steve

Thanks Bernd but unfortunately no change.

Isn't that just different way of expressing the same scale?

Thanks Steve,

well, sometimes it's some kind of tricky business and really not very intuitive and straight forward.
One should try the different settings of "Fit to Area" - "Align Center" "Page Setup"
and "Overlay Drawing in Preview" + "Show Page Breaks..", ticked on.

May be you like to post an example file with a similar set up of your original file in question ?

Thank You Bernd.
I started to follow your suggestion and clicking on Fit To Area resulted in immediate success.
The program changed the Scale to 0.064676 which is, I am guessing what was required to fit my drawing on the print area for my printer.
I am sure I tried Fit To Area before but assume the scale was not changed.

Thanks for your help.
Steve
