I want to use a 4"x3"x.313 thick plate and take my 1/8" flat end mill bit and make circular cuts with 1/4" spacing between each circle and 1/4" depth of cut. The circles go in a "TARGET" pattern like attached file pic
target pattern . Now I made the design on Viacad, but when I save it , than export it to meshcam, when I go to have meshcam run the tool path, it does not recognize the circle cuts. Its just shows the flat 4"x3"x.313 surface. Is there a reason why the circular cuts are not showing?

What file format did you export with? Is the circles just curves or did you cut them out of the solid plate in ViaCAD before you exported ?
Regards
Jason

Try exporting as a .dxf, which Meshcam also accepts, and see if that will work.

stl files do not have paths, just a dumb surface. if you are exporting with intended tool path no surface/solid should be in the export, just the paths. also check direction with the verify option and you can direct cam into climb or standard cuts (also used in hd plasma).

It's simple, anything divided by zero, is zero.
