there is a tool in power pack suggesting a 3d path from 2 2d paths. I can not seem to figure out how to use it, and this is sad, for i really see potential and ease in this option. Ideally I could draw two views in the same work plane, much like old school paper drafting, and have magic computer and software generate 3d path.

I don't see this tool in Power Pack, but some tools in PP aren't operational. (or aren't yet operational)

This sounds like the PowerPack : Draw : Curve from Two Views command. This tool takes two 2D curves, projects each along a vector, and creates a new 3D curve from the resulting intersection. Below is a quick (no audio) video of the command.

Nice Tim, but can we have the same result with traditional operation. Extruded the shape in Z (top view) - and then Trim Solid with the two different profiles (Splines in the side view).???
