also tried to register as new user and wouldn't accept many different trials for the password. I have a question concerning ViaCAD Pro 9 and need to get to the forum to ask it. Thanks, jarm22

I had the forum send you a password reset. Hopefully that will fix the issue. Tim

Thanks, Tim.
I had tried the lost password routine it wouldn't let me get past the password screen.
Maybe you can answer a question for me.
I created a tubular shape from a cylinder and subtracted a helical shape and a slot using a rectangular shape. This created two separate pieces from the tubular shape. I don't know how to separate the two shapes. When I select either one of them, both are selected.
Thanks,
Jarm22

Try the Edit : Change Object Type : Solids tool. This will separate out all the individual solids. Tim

Thanks, Tim. That worked great. I am a novice at 3D drawing and don't use it often. I do plan to learn more and ViaCAD Pro is my choice of software. The part I am drawing is a cam section made of PVC for a powered nut cracker. I need to refine it a bit, but the basic shape is there now. Your help is appreciated and I have watched your excellent videos several times as I explore 3D. I would really like to attend a basic class somewhere on using ViaCAD Pro and the difference between solid, NURBS, surfaces, etc. and how to work with each of them. I don't even know the technology very well at this point. As a retired Mechanical Engineer, I am proficient at 2D drawing with AutoCAD and Draftsight, but have a long way to go in 3D. Jarm22
