How do I change the Length, width, and thickness values, from decimal parts of a foot to feet and inches, when creating a BOM?

Try:
Preferences / Units / Feet Inches

There are two ways to do this, and I hope you don't have a lot to do because it can be a pain. The first way is after the BOM is created, select the dimension text and in the text box in the data window type in the feet/inches, you will need to do them one at a time. Make sure that this conversion is the last thing you do to the BOM because updating or re-creating the BOM will make everything revert back to decimal.

The second method is to create your own custom BOM using the string attribute for the dimension value. Again you will need to enter the feet/inches as a string value for each dimension and apply to each selected part. Using this method will retain the data so updating the BOM to accommodate a new part won't result in everything reverting back to decimal.

Wish I had a better answer, good luck.

Thank you NICKB, and mitchb for your replies. I was able to export the BOM to a TEXT file, and drop it into an excel file to convert it. definitely not the solution I was hoping for, but I'll have to make it work. Thanks again for the help, hopefully Punch will implement a simple conversion into the next version of ViaCAd.

Yes, we need to add some more settings to the BOM table such as units and number of decimals.
