Does any have Architectural/Interior Design Renderings? (#4887)

I'm working on my masters in interior design, and am interested to see what functionality Shark or ViaCad has that would support my continued use of it in this field. I've used it successfully for the design/engineering of mass-produced ready-to-assemble furniture for the last few years but now hope to continue using it for creating physical environments. Would anyone please like to share their architectural/interior design work? Thank you.

I make a living designing interior spaces and would not reccomend using Shark for that purpose. I do use it to model some of the objects that go into the environments and occasionally to model the building shell. You should take a look at FormZ to model and manage the model and Maxwell Render for renderings. Gary

Thanks Gary, nice to meet someone in the field. I have indeed been looking hard at FormZ over the past four or five years. I think they've drastically improved with v7. I understand that 8 will be coming out in 2014 and will offer more tools. What I really like about it is its ability to explore shapes and form really easily. Got lots of nifty drawing tools. The staircase and roof tool are nice. I considered Bonzai due to its lower cost but its missing some good features of its big brother. Rendering in Shark is not my favorite, can you confirm if its any different/better in FormZ?

Hello misterrodgers,
I post two examples of what Shark can do for the architects.
I help an senior architect who doesn't use the 3D tools of shark but only the 2D.
All the model was created in shark (export to Allplan in dwg or dxf for the building engineers).
If I need to change the drawings, I kept all the construction's links for the outside and inside walls. I suppressed the links for the other parts (windows, doors, baths, showers, roofs, isolation).
All of my house was created in Shark (from the floor to the furnitures).
The rendering was made in Artlantis render (rapid, simple, fast and you can create or use some model libraries to manage your files).
Bye,
Franois

Misterrogers, I use Maxwell render for all my rendering. The plug-in is very well integrated into Form-Z and the quality is great. It is helpful if you have access to a few computers to get a small render farm going. Let me know if you have any other questions. Gary

thanks for posting examples of your work everyone. I also feel Shark is terrific for finely detailed furniture/fittings etc. While FormZ would be more apropos for freeform geometric exploration, akin to Rhino. I am starting to get over the fact that Shark won't have the constraints function any longer, but I'm excited about the SubD modeling tools. Currently I just use Silo 2 for sub division geometry. Would be nice to have in shark. Btw Gary I sent you a PM, did you get it by any chance? Thanks

Thanks for sharing – really nice work Defkon. Always love seeing renderings alongside the finished construction!

I just got ViaCAD 2D/3D and have only played with it for about 8 hours. This is what I have so far.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a 3D model and plan of a commercial space of some kind.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes it was a great show this year.
There was a lot of fun designing the room for the show.
