Viacad 2D3D V9.02 Build 1163

I have just drawn a rectangle and want to fill it.

Selected the fill icon and when I click in the rectangle I get the error message 'Valid hatch region not found'.

Any ideas why?

Regards
Brian

If the closed object is not a single entity like a smart polygon or a group it can't be filled with single click, unless all the lines are selected first. After selecting the fill tool, if you hit shift and draw a window around say 4 lines shaped as a rectangle, and they are closed then it would fill.

Hi Pobble
I often have trouble with the hatch tool.
Some times it works and sometimes I just keep redrawing areas until it decides to take.

Thanks for the help.

I have found that it is a bit hit and miss.

I drew a single line diagonal polygon, not smart one, and then grouped it.

I could not then get it to fill.

I then drew a circle and filled that and found that if I clicked on my polygon it wuld fill ok.

Don't you just love inconsistancies!

Smart rectangles seem to work all the time so I will stay with those.

Brian
