I use simplify profile from powerpack to get rid of hundreds of tiny lines from an airfoil. But this seems to cause a lot of trouble. Here is one. When i do a simplify profile on the airfoil it moves the foil away from its origin point. see pics. Is this a known problem or do i something wrong?

Hi Martin Can you send me the file with just the profile you want to simplify? Tim

Hi Tim
Here is the file.
Other problem i have is that when doing a 2 rail sweep with a simplifyed profile the nurb does not behave like i'm used. But i have to figure that out when this problem here is solved:-)

I've made some updates with the Simplify tool and tolerances. Plus I now report the maximum deviation after a simplify operation. In your example it was not following the tolerances. Build 1174 will have the corrections. I've also made some updates when simplifying lines to arcs and splines.

I used your rudder example file to do some more testing of PowerPack. One possible approach to creating a wing from your data is instead of converting to a polyline, convert to a spline. Below is a video showing that possible workflow.

Tim, thanks a lot. It did work like you have shown in the screen cast. I did the 2 rail sweep in two parts (the strait one and the curved) and then joined the surface. Also i do not have the options when doing simplify operation, is this new or a different package?. Where can i get the build from, or is it not yet available.
