Martin,
i recive your post in "surface part" of this forum, thanks, but your present problem becomes from start creating a surface from imported dxf profiles. Sometimes they are "broken" after import, in this case line in layer "profil" can be a problem. Better is create new profiles in viacad, because >native< lines/curves/splines are better to make complicated forms like your ruder.

I simply redraw profile curve by "interpolate spline" but only upper half, then i do "two rails sweep surface", then "mirror" surface, then close object on top by "cover surfaces" by select edge of surfaces, and "stitch" surfaces into solid, then "subtract solid", from block, and it works...

I'm importing the DXF from the software profili. and toll now i did not have any problems. But i think the problem ist the spimlify profile function from power pack.

That's what i also do some times. But without redrawing the profile. It works, if i do not use simplify profile. And in this case the upper and lower part is different because i rotate the surface, so i have different upper and lower blocks. And from my point it seem everything works if do not run simplify on the profile. But i have to figure that out once more to be sure. And after that i will try with the redraw of the profile with an interpolate spline.

I want to find out if the problems coming from simplify profile.

By the way I did construct a rudder form which i have already milled and there i had some problem thats why i want to use the spimlify profile tool. see here http://forum.punchcad.com/defau...sts&t=6853#post25252
