Hi, I am drawing large size objects, so need to use scaling a lot. I use Viacad 2D/3D 9. I have not figured out how to scale the drawing. I know it scales the view, pagelayout, etc. But what about the drawing process itself? For example I want to draw a 1cm line, but when I dimension it, it must show 1m. Is this possible in ViaCad9? Thanks!

Model to sheet scales the object automatically and you can adjust that scale to your required drawing size.

hi Craig, thanks for the reply. I tried it, however it does not work for me. I don't draw in 3D at all. All my drawings are in 2D. Model to Sheet seems to work only with existing objects. But I want to set my work plane in the way, that I can draw 2D drawings at a certsain scale. Is this possible?

Hi Gaya, I understand now, I was a little confused by your question before and you are right, model to sheet is of no use to you. The only thing I can think of is that if you draw your design to real world scale and when you have completed it, you can select all the objects you need to scale down and use the gripper. When you have scaled a small amount you can input the required figure in the gripper scale box that appears at the top of the drawing area after your initial scale. I created a square with 1m sides, I then selected all the lines and used the gripper to scale down slightly, when the scale box appeared I input 0.5 and now the square is 0.5m. Hope that helps?
