Hi

is there a way of making/Forcing the points generated by Verifications in PowerPack to Generate on to a separate Verification point Layer?

If not this would be very useful for doing a mass delete after you have sorting out any errors.

You could set the work layer prior to using the command.

Hi Tim

i have tried this by setting up a points layer and making that the live layer then running the gap analysis but they are still generated on the layer for the problem objects.

i believe i have done what you said please see screen shot

i tried this on a second attempt and it worked.

i am finding also if not all lines are in the same direction tim it also generates gaps is this correct?

Concept Explorer was not updating until you clicked the Ok button in the dialog box. I corrected this for 1186 so you see it before you hit Ok.

Direction should not show as a gap. If you have an example where direction is showing up as a gap could you send me the file?

Hi Tim

Is there a better explanation for the use of the tool? on the site?

if it is used by dragging across curves it produces a different result to selecting curves as individuals in a chain the latter generates the points. the explanation on the site is a little vague on the correct use. I'm afraid i have corrected the problem so all curves face i the same direction.

if you look at the example i posted gaps are shown along the bottom of the drawing this is where the lines meet i was surprised these where generated.

i find there are inconsistent results depending on how i select elements in the drawing.

A gap is where a curve does not start or end at the start or end of another curve.

If a line starts or ends somewhere along another curve that is not the start or end, that is considered a gap.

In the attached image, the red line will produce a gap.

The tool is usually used in conjunction with checking that a profile is closed for extrusion/lathe/sweep into a solid. ACIS wants an unambiguous closed region.

Hi Tim

I had assumed this was the case with the joins but was still surprise things are generated differently in the way i selected the curves?

i find when using the Fillet two lines tool it generates a curve that is slightly offset by a very small amount i have been picking these up with the above tool. not sure why some generate correctly and others do not?

If i can narrow down what is happening i will let you Know i have noticed this happening before in previous builds but have been manually correcting them and not said anything assuming it was me.
