Dude I love this program! I am coming from Sketchup pro and I am very pleased.

I need to know how to do something:

1. When I ctrl + drag copy how can I snap the copy to a edge of another object? Say I have drawn a 2x4x12 inch board and I need to snap it to the edge of a another 2x4x36 inch board on the x- axis?

2. On linear copy array how do I keep the array snapped to one axis only?

Thanks so much for this great program.

Yes...

But is there a key to lock the movement to only one direction to the edge snap? I keep ending up changing location on z and y axis- when i only want to be able to snap on the x axis in this move.

normally you can hold down x, y or z key to lock movement to one axis, but seemingly this doesn't work on drag copy. maybe try the "translate tool" with ctrl key

edit: another way: grab the source edge, drag to desired edge but hold on and go back to your original axis, then let go. you can "catch" a point with logicursor

take the "linear duplicate tool". offset values marked with * can be picked from the drawing

>>>Dude I love this program! I am coming from Sketchup pro and I am very pleased.

Thanks for the kind comments. Please help us get the word out to SketchUp users! I recently did some videos showing how you can convert sketchup data into precise solids.

I hope to purchase the powerpack when I purchase the pro. I am waiting on checks from customers.

But I compared ViaCad to Sketchlist 3d, Turbocad, FreeCad, Cabinet 32, etc and yours was the first one I was able to produce exactly what I want how I want it with a very low learning curve.
