If I save a model with several objects as a symbol. Then I load those into a new model via Concept Explorer/ symbols it loads fine.

but I cannot move scale or rotate the symbol. it gives me a Cannot render this feature error. They way I get the error to stop is to un group the objects- then one at a time select them with shift-click only then can I use them normally. Otherwise selection by box or ctrl a gives the same error cannot render feature.

attached is the model I saved to symbols.

I think the problem is with 2 small circles.
Do a 'Hide all objects', then 'Show all curves', Select all'
and Delete the curves.
Do a 'Show all objects' and you should be good to go.

So when you use a line or circle to make a hole etc-- it does not automatically delete those lines when the push / pull is done?

BTW thanks for the help!

I just tested your suggestion and worked like a charm!

no, the lines/curves stay in the drawing, they are "sketches". later you can change parameters on that sketch and your extrusion/push-pull etc will follow (associativity). in the picture i drew a circle on top of a block and did a push-pull. when selecting the circle i'm able to change diameter of the protrusion. i also can move the sketch - try it!
if you don't want to see the sketches in your drawing, then hide them or move them to a hidden layer.

but then don't these circles then cause the error listed above? Im sorry but this is confusing to me.

ok, for a symbol the sketches can cause trouble. you can delete the sketches in a finished model before doing a save as symbol.
