Sometimes I find I can't open a shark fx file I just saved. When I look at it the extension has changed from .sfx to sfxA. If I remove the A I can open it. Just wondering what is going on. I'm using an older version and I'm bumping up against the program's limitations which causes a crash on complex parts.
thanks
dale

Hi Dale, Just checked computer in the shop, Win 7 64 Pro SharkFX7, forgot to look at the release, 900 something. No sign of a .sfxA. Sorry, not much help. Larry

Shark and ViaCAD save to .sfxA, or .vc3A files, when the save has finished the original ill is deleted and the new one remained to .sxf or .vc3. This is to ensure that id the save fails all the data is not lost. It's standard practise with most apps.

Thank you Larry for checking. Thank you Bill for the explanation. I've had many crashes while trying to save lately. When that happens my existing file gets corrupted. I've learned to create a back up before trying to save when nearing the program limitations.
