I sometimes work in congested areas of parts. I was thinking it would be swell if new entities had a temporary color (user-defined color and duration before fading to creation layer's default colors) so that new entities could be differentiated with less temptation to ad-hoc color and then forget to set the items to their layer's defaults. This could be most useful when there is either video lag or maybe long scrolling/pan/zoom times when hunting for basepoints while trying to visually track where the new entity IS and the next one is to go.

It would be even grander if the ViaCAD could remember, say 5 recent parts, or just flag them and allow the user to keystroke-sequence assign them to the tracker by filter settings. So, surfaces, lines, and solids might be prime candidates. Then we could toggle them with say, Ctrl+Alt+Shift (assuming we get multi-key shortcuts).

Or, if multi-key shortcuts are never going to be on the product roadmap realization, then an on-mouse-over code could highlight the recently-created entities. If colorization is not going to be an option, them maybe contrasting the lines/surfaces/solids could be.

Just my $0.2.
