I have this happen in both v 9 and in beta 10. But I have not seen anybody else have this issue. But it happens to me all the time.
When I grab and ctrl copy a part. Sometimes it makes an instance and it keeps the part name. Sometimes it deletes the original part's name and does not make an associative instance but new parts.
Here is the exact steps I did that causes this:
1. I make a box. Give it a name.
2. Copy the box and the name remains both on the original and the instance.
3. Then I copy or move the instance, and mirror them and I lose the names and then I have 3 dis-associated parts and the names are gone replaced with part numbers. This happens sporadically- not every time.
I provided the file for the job I am working on. The four frames on the ends look different but they are all copies of the first frame. If we look just at the posts- you will see the first four posts have the name "P1-Posts", then the next three have the name "Translate####" and the then next two have "Part####" and the last has "P1-Posts"
but they all are copies of each other. The only difference are the posts on one side (the ones with the messed up names) are mirrors of the other side.
As piecemarks are extremely important in a furniture shop, I need to know am I causing this? Or is this a bug?
