Hi all
I understand that the file startup.dat is used as the template at VC startup
I can't find this file? or do i need to create it?
Which folder should it be in?
Will this file store custom line types etc
With line types, can the standard types be modified
Andrew

Hi Andrew Below tip from our tips/tricks book.. TimHow can I make user defined pen styles, layers, and views available for new drawings? The startup.dat file is a great place to store user defined views, layers, and pen styles that you would like available for each new launch session. When ViaCAD launches, it looks for the existence of this file and if present, reads the contents into the program. To create a startup.dat file, start ViaCAD and create your specific pen styles, views, or layers. Save the file and rename to startup.dat. Move this file to the appropriate platform specific folder listed below. Mac: /Applications/ViaCAD 2D 10.app/Contents/Resources/startup.dat /Applications/ViaCAD 2D3D 10.app/Contents/Resources/startup.dat /Applications/ViaCAD Pro 10.app/Contents/Resources/startup.dat /Applications/Shark LT 9.app/Contents/Resources/startup.dat /Applications/Shark FX 9.app/Contents/Resources/startup.dat PC: /Program Files /Punch! Software/ViaCAD 2D 10/startup.dat /Program Files /Punch! Software/ViaCAD 3D 10/startup.dat /Program Files /Punch! Software/ViaCAD Pro 10/startup.dat /Program Files/Punch! Software/Shark LT 9/startup.dat /Program Files/Punch! Software/Shark FX 9/startup.dat
