Hi folks, I don't know if this post is in the right place, sorry if not. When using an isometric draw view setting i want to show the hidden lines. I have the pen style hidden to hidden and the lines are red. I cant find where to set the color. I can change them all manually but that is a pain. it seems like each pen style is a different default color. thanks for any help. Mark

Mark The best thing to do is create a custom line style with linetype and scale and weight. Then when you go to use draw view you can assign your custom pen style in the hidden drop down. The Model to Sheet when redrawn or regenerated uses the original pen style assigned when the model to sheet was created. Regards Jason

Actually one more question. It seems like curves, either radii or circles don' the the line style. is that normal? if not how do I correct this? thank you again

Can you give an example of what you mean with curves, circles?
Thanks

I have the same problem. In sheet view with hidden lines to be shown as dashed, the straight hidden lines are dashed, but the hidden curves are not dashed. See attached pdf and vcd test files (if it lets me attach them).

Hello Hello Change the linetype scale so the scale is lower than 1 till you get desired result The rt click has linetype and a box to change scale Regards Jason

Thanks, but I already did that. In the previously attached sample files, the hidden/dashed line scale is 0.4. This line type and scale works for the straight lines, but not for the curved lines, which are solid. I selected each line element and changed it individually. Per your suggestion above, I tried changing the scale of a curve to 0.1. This actually works, but then the scale is too small. When I change it to 0.2 or above, it goes to solid line. When I right click, there is no "linetype" option in the context menu directly. I go into inspector to make the change. It works on straight hidden lines.

Thanks for the example file. I've made some changes in 1330 that should help the facetted line option using pen styles in model to sheet.
Unfortunately until 1130, you will need to keep the dash segment smaller then the length of a single line segment.
I also corrected an instance where a projected circle/ellipse should be a 2 point line to display correctly as a hidden line.

Thanks Tim. That may be a big help. I can't finish a project the way it is now. I must export the draw views to dxf and finish the project in DesignCAD, which I am trying to replace with ViaCAD.

During beta periods we typically provide a new work in progress build every week and provide a change log in the beta forum.
The current SharkCAD Pro beta is 1329 and uploaded last week. We should have 1330 ready for testing this weekend.

The Check Current Version is only for builds that have been passed and uploaded by Encore QA.
Development also provides as needed Work in Progress builds to Encore tech support. Encore tech support hands these out to solve "crisis" issues as needed.

Thanks for the tip. I was about to upload a sample but Guest uploaded similar samples. I have to reduce the scale to .1 which is rather small but it works. Thanks again. Mark

To Tim Olson: Regarding DesignCAD: I create a model to sheet in ViaCAD, then export the sheet to dxf. I import the dxf in DesignCAD, then copy the figures or elements I need to a new file in DesignCAD. This abandons the formatting of the ViaCAD sheet view. I use ViaCAD for its great solid modeling. Eventually, I want to be able to finish my drawings in ViaCAD and forget about DesignCAD. I am a patent agent, so I need to draft b/w line drawings, including isometric and other projections and sections of solid models. DesignCAD is very productive at the 2D end of the project.
