Like many others, I'm new to PunchCad. I am drafting a simple shed and I have a 2x4 that is 8' tall along the z axis. How to I cut the end of the 2x4 at an 18 degree angle? I can't figure out how to even set up a solid triangle as the line reference for an angle only works in the X Y plane, and I need an angle in the face of the Z plane. I hope I've explained myself well enough. Essentially I want to cut my 2x4 along the red line

You can use the 'Infinite Plane Tool' selecting 'three points in a plane', this will do the job quite easily !

So I tried the infinite plane tool and understand that I was able to use it to split the solid, however I've not determine 1) how to set the proper angle for the cut, and 2) how I would set the infinite plane onto the solid at this angle.

I'm looking to cut the solid at an 18 degree angle. The line I used in my example was random as I haven't determine how I place anything at a predetermined angle.

hi, for an 18 degree draft you can use the "draft face" tool. see pictures

..... to split or to trim, thats nearly the same and works with the Infinite Plane also fine like the traft tool.

For setting the Infinite Plane you must only set the gripper to "Center of Select" and position it on the axis or to the point you wish to use (here midpoint of the line). The angle you wish to have you can set in the data-entry-box above.
