Draw views unexpected behaviour

Hello,
I'm using ViaCAD Pro 10 build 1341 and macOS Sierra 10.12.6 ;
I try to scale a 2D drawing using a draw view, alas I fail to produce the expected result, even trying with the floorplan example file, after this video
[link] ;
I can however copy-paste some elements, say items like walls or solids. This is regular since v9 I understand, but v10 is said to build draw views based on layers, area and this
automatically .
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you,
Regards,
thmrtnz

Is it possible you did not select the Layer View type?
You should not need to cut/paste with this type as it uses layers and a drawing region to fill the contents of the draw view.

Hello Tim, Thank you. Indeed, I was not aware of the setting for type of view. Great! Regards, thmrtnz

Hello Tim,
When I add dimensions to a draw view and deselect everything after, I cannot select the dimension back using the Select tool nor the Deep Select tool ; is this expected?
PS: I just found that I can use the Concept Explorer to filter dimensions, yet it would a nice feature to select dimensions with the Deep Select tool.
add.: Well, even filtering out and selecting the dimension, I cannot edit its attributes. I need to set the attributes before making a new dimension.
Regards,
thmrtnz

thmrtnz If dimensions were drawn inside an active draw view then you need to activate the draw view to be able to select he dimensions. Regards Jason

Well, it doesn't work in ViaCAD Pro 10 1341. Once a dimension is added inside a draw view, I can no longer select it with the Select tool and I cannot change its attributes.

Hello thmrtnz
Can you post a sample file, as I cannot repeat here.
Thanks

Hello Jason,
Here a file with two layer views and quickly added dimensions.
Thank you,

What steps did you use to create this sample file. The draw view layers - cannot resolve dimensions on the dimension layer in your file. The dimensions are visible but the dimension layer is turned off in the draw view. If you turn the dimension layer on in the draw view it duplicates the dimensions.

I simply activated the Layer View and dragged dimensions from curves. Somehow, these dimensions are linked to the Dimensions layer as set in the Inspector, and they are not removed if you delete the Draw/Layer view, they still appear in the Concept Explorer.
Seems it is not the right workflow. I'm trying to use dimensions on a
sheet-to-print layer , not along the part or drawing space. I wonder if I should use layers for dimensions alongside the model, but then, it is difficult to scale it right to make the text precisely 3,5mm say.
Obviously, I do not know what I'm doing! Ah ah!

I replicated the issue, if you add a new draw view after adding dimensions to an existing one and you turn the dim layer off the dimension become unselectable. It seems that adding dimensions in side a draw view (Layers) is not exclusive to that draw view for visibility and select-ability. New Draw view (layers) all dimensions added inside this view should be exclusive to this view only Dimensions added to main drawing should show in every view , existing and new Regards Jason
