I've got 25 new tips completed that I will be adding to the book for the first update. Encore has me hustling up service packs for all the ViaCAD products. Once the service packs are sent off to QA, I plan to update the book.

I recently added 36 new tips and made some minor edits to existing tips based on feedback.

These updates will be coming after development gets out the v9 ViaCAD updates.

>>but the only option seems to be to purchase the book again.

If you purchased the ebook, this update is free. If you purchased from masterviacad.com you will get an email with link and I will post in the forum that it went out in case it went into spam. If you purchased from Encore or Amazon, just drop me an email and I"ll add you to my list for free updates.

>>p.s. the book is really great!

Thank you very much! I collaborated with my daughter on the book. She did the layout and editing.

Attached is a list of the new tips.

Tim

Hi Roger,

I'm not seeing the paypal receipt. Could you private email me the receipt and I'll look into?

The current version is the third edition, noted on the third page of the pdf under copyrights. Last updated around June of 2016.

There is a plan for a new version around the first quarter of 2018 that updates the content, adds more tutorials, and another 60 tips.

If there is an area that you would like to see more tips please let us know!

Regards,

Tim

I just purchased the PDF through Paypal. Will the PDF come in an email, and how long should I expect to wait to receive it?

I would love to see some tutorials and tips related to workflow with solid models. I.E. best practices for creating solids that don't break the history tree, types of operations and solids that will regenerate properly without creating errors.

A list of explanations or a translation for the dozens of error messages that can occur would be awesome! I started with V6 and now am on V10 but still constantly confused by how I end up with error messages for operations and have no idea what they mean or how to correct them.

I would also like to see Tim either refrain from using shortcut keys during the video tutorials or verbally say that he is using them. Since we can't see the keyboard and there is no onscreen indication that you are using a shortcut key, it can be very confusing.

I think it would also be extremely valuable to see some kind of recommendation or tips related to working with assemblies or multi-part designs. How does Tim suggest that a multi part design be drawn since ViaCAD doesn't support assemblies the same way other software does.

I was wondering if Tim Olson is working on a current version of his tutorials for SharkCad Pro V12 .
My wife purchased this program for a 2021 Christmas present and I’m looking for additional tutorials on other subjects than those provided with the software .
It would be great to hear from Tim himself as I am ready to purchase this 2016 version but have questions concerning it’s compatibility with the latest version of SharkCad Pro V12 .
Looking forward to corresponding with you Tim .
