I love using the navigator - it works for me !

However, Navigator's redraw rate is poor compared to the Dynamic Rotate tool

Open a big file to see this clearly - It always has been so !

Is there nothing that can be done ?

Also - can we stop the cursor flickering madly when doing any kind of rotate, pan or dynamic scale ?

When I'm with a client, I am very conscious of these clunky issues - they're just not slick !

Just use Alt and right mouse button to get the dynamic rotating tool while another tool stay in hand, and Press Alt+Right Mouse Button+Ctrl+Left Mouse Botten at a Snap Point to set a center point while another tool in hand (while drawing a line) you never will need the navigator anymore. Press Space and right Mouse button to get the Dynamic Pan Tool while drawing a line, you never need moving the view in another way.

Thanks - but ...

A. I've used the Navigator for nearly 20 years and quite like it

B. Workarounds are no reason to have tools around that don't work as well is they might
thanks 1 user thanked Jolyon for this useful post.

Me too, 20 years of navigation... Steamboat Willie !

In addition I also use the Navigator :
- to move step by step
- to quickly display views that are not in the default shortcuts :left, back, bottom, etc,
- because the left mouse click is not so easy to do on a trackpad...
