Is there any thought about retopology tools for SharkCAD or PowerPack development roadmaps? I've been learning to use Blender because it's got a couple of semi-automated methods, shrink wrap, which shrinks a simpler quad mesh so that its nodes lie on the surface of another mesh, and a "painting faces" method, which extends the edges of a quad mesh. I've noticed that NPower have shrink wrap retopology to help the mesh-to-nurbs plugin for Onshape.

Continue to investigate, nothing to report. I've used 3D Coat for retopology and love the results. I did not know blender had some tools for retopology, will check out. Tim

For organic I use 3D-Coat too. But for hard surfaces I prefer a viaCAD's standard "Change Object Type..." function. "Mesh Parameters" settings allow you to create an acceptable mesh for most cases. After a short cleaning, in most cases I get a basic mesh suitable for the UV mapping or subdivision.
