Hello Steve

Not exactly as you describe but you can..

If you know the layer name you want to isolate,

1.Open Concept Explorer, layers tab, and right click on the layer name and in the menu is "select objects in layer"

2. Open Selection mask, leave type and color with all selected and pick the layer of interest and then hit ctrl A

As Jason mentioned, the best way to manage large parts is with the layer tools. If you have solid created from a 2D curve profile, put the curves in a separate layer.

For temporary display control, I like the right button.

--Right Click on object/selected to show Only.

and below to quickly change from working with a 2 curve profile to resulting solid.

--Right Click off object for Hide All : Entity Type and Show All : Entity Type.

You can also assign functions to the right button via the File : ShortCuts : Assign to Mouse command.

Thanks Guys for the feedback, I have been doing as you both noted.
The isolate command is one I use at work in NX (UG), find it
very useful when you have a lot of layers, you don't have to figure
out what the layer is!

The other one I use a lot is show objects hidden, it allows you to select
the one you want to show and turns the rest back off.

Thanks
Steve
