hi all
I'm a little confused on how the drawing view tools works
I know how to use the model-to-sheet works, but not the new sheet view

I would like to make a quick view of a part of my design
thanks for any help

andrew

edit:
I have attached a file that the drawing view will not work with
I'm trying to get a view of the top locking collar
if I change to the top view, then it works

Draw Views can only placed in the Top-View and works only in Top View of a Layer. You can see this when u use Model to Sheet, this new layers of model to sheet are always in Top View. This have nothing to do with that the draw view can display all Views of the Model. You should create a new layer for your draw view and setup the Top View and create a Draw view and copy and paste the model in the draw view and change view options. When you move a draw view while pressing ctrl it create a copy with different view options. When you move a Draw View with a Front View to the right side while pressing ctrl it create a view from the right side of the model. You can also use a Layer View. Focussing your part view is possible with "pan view" which you get left top of the draw view where you also find the properties setup. A better Way is the Detail View. Note that the Detail View only works with other Draw views and not with the Model.

Hello Andrew

I have attached a file with both a draw view and a layer view created with top view of the part.
