This is the file error I get.(below)

SharkCad Pro 10.0.3 Build 1356
Mac OS 10.13.2

I cannot use any of the older Sharks because I upgraded to High Sierra; wondering if that was a mistake.

Hi Art

I also have problems with STEP - but exporting in my case causes issues

I work around this by using another APP called FreeCAD as a STEP stepping stone

I can recommend this !

Hello Art

Can you post one of the files you are trying to import. They look like components from mcmmaster Carr? If you draw a small sample file in shark and export to step and then import does it come in ok?

You can also download the .sat file instead of step from mcmaster Carr till the step gets sorted out.

Wow, thanks guys!!

Appreciate the hint about the Mcmaster files, I forgot other formats were available. Unfortunately I needed to import some Keystone parts as well. I will check there too.

And yes, if you export a file out, and try to re-import, you get the same error.

Hello? Do I have some freakish problem or is nobody importing files?

I get meshes when I import DXF, errors with step and iges (and no parts). the only thing I can import is SAT.

Do I have to call to get an answer?

If I have a computer problem I apologize in advance, but I am getting stuck here and cannot import step or iges.

I have many component parts to import and am dead in the water.

Art - have you tried to use FreeCAD as a stepping stone

I know it's not ideal - but -

It gets me out of all sorts of issues with Step files not writing correctly from Shark

(... such that my client on NX / Alias can't read them)

I exported a dxf yesterday for my work after flattening a mesh. The dxf has very little export options, and consequently Catia couldn't read the files. Turns out it was exporting exverything in a 3d format, as I tried exporting a square, 4 lines, and that worked fine.
Would be nice to have more options like export curves only etc.

I then worked around it in NX and brought in both stp and igs in ViaCAD V10 Pro, windows 7. Everything worked fine. I've had some very freakish behaviour from mine recently. The graphics went crazy on one of my parts and it went see theough and whilst rotating flickered on and off all the time. The part ended up totally corrupt and i had to start again......

Looks like build 1354 works as expected, do you have the older build of v10 to revert to? If not contact tech support for help

Thanks Everybody, I will contact support. I had to go to 1356 because of some other dramatic problems after I updated to High Sierra.

The step import issue has indeed been addressed in the last English WIP build 1359.
