I keep have a ton of problem with this. Try make a 2 shape then extrude it.

1. like I draw a shape on end point then fill I cann't extrude one reason or another it making basics impossible and nonsense. Something it error saything like it not solid shape or not connected.

I'm at a loss here like it super picky what it wants to do.

Hello

To be able to extrude there can be no gaps between lines in the profile. You can check by rt clicking on profile and pick select chain. It will either select all objects in the profile or stop highlighting at the first gap it finds.
