It seems so easy...and yet I cannot get the result I want.

I have need to scale a series of elements larger by a numerical factor of: 1.0706874189364461738002594033722 (super-duper-extra precision included for comedic effect)

My actions have been: Modify, Transform, Scale. I box select my elements, pick the anchor point, I type in my scale factor press enter and the result is not scaled to what I have typed in.

Does VC/Shark have precision limits? I know this seems a ridiculous question but I cannot understand the resultant value I get. I have uniform scaling on my Gripper and Uniform set in the Scale itself.

What am I missing?

Hello

How do you know it did not scale correctly?

Because it's been made abundantly clear I am Stooopit! :o)

Mathematics does not work out properly when the Monkey at the controls transposes numbers either side of the decimal point when trying to verify results. Once again, the decades old "demonstration effect" has bitten me in the behind.

Dude, the settings allow you to the 8th decimal place at least in my mac. You can scale a 1" line to your 8th decimal place and it should be dead on. You are going beyond what the program can handle.

Don't keep monkeying around.

That's actually a good question I noticed yesterday, when I draw a line in, and then straight away scale it by dragging the yellow box, the whole bloody thing lifts and moves. Select an open space, then reselect the line, drag the yellow box and all of a sudden the lines just extends as you would expect. Another bug I thinks?

you might need to show a video cause I cannot replicate. Maybe others on windows 7 can confirm. Which type of line is it? middle line, multi line, middle line. Or is this a polygon?

UG

Can you be more specific what type of line and if you are using the scale box on the gripper what gripper settings are you using. Are you entering a value or just dragging bigger?

The line will rubberband to smaller value and then finish on the value you enter in the data entry window.

Typical, I've just gone to try it and it not doing it now. I was modelling parts yesterday, and just using a single line, picked two points then I wanted to scale it to make it longer, and it drifted up and away from where I had put it. (Dragging yellow box bit)
Now trying it, this does not happen!
