It took a few days before it occurred, but even with 'Save Preview Image' turned off I'm still getting the freeze on save.

Hi Tim, I just bought a new Mac. A new 15Inch 2016 Model and Installed my Dropbox and Viacad9 on it. Very Quick and good, It works FINE. Everything cool…… BUT BUT after 2 weeks working with it, viacad now FREEZES again and I got a clue! Might be? I Wanted to save offline to the Dropbox and the first Time it worked. The second time, it did change twice without sync to Dropbox and it CRASHES. So my assumption is that something in sync flags is set and when not synced but rewritten by ViaCad, the Filesave Freezes and kills ViaCad 9. Again, when I save in a directory - which it crashed, it repeatable crashes… I have to save as workaround once to another directory then it works without freezing but only till next start of viaCad. What a pain. I’m sorry, but I’m not knowing what I can do, it crashes now regularly again… NO NO NO… and wastes my time… even with a brand new Virgin System. It Crashes nearly every time I’m working. Tim, Could you re-create the frezees on your system or have a hint?

Which system are you running on your Mac? ViaCad 9 doesn't work on OS X 10.13.

Hello Did you try this without dropbox being installed and running? It seems like this is strictly an interaction between dropbox , the file system and ViaCAD. Do you have the latest version of dropbox? Regards Jason

Thank you.
It happens on the iCloud, on the Dropbox and on Folders where no iCloud and Dropbox is used like root.
I have the latest version of Dropbox, and OS X. it is a real pain.
However, I noticed when ViaCad crashed/Freezed it will freeze always in the same folder. I can open a dokument like the YoutubeVideo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o190x-o6IQ Nothing changed vorm V9 to V10 or since I recorded it.
You have to save it on a different place and when you are lucky it works. Then you can save it again in the folder u like to.
Mostly you have lost your work then because the freeze happens random again afterwards.
Thanks for your interest for this persistent problem.

Sounds like a problem with the disk rather than the software. Have you run Disk Utility?

A couple of bad sectors on your disc that only affect the ViaCad directory?

running Disk Utility won't make your problem worse, and may help, but if you enjoy banging your head against a wall......
