Hi,
I am simply trying to draw a couple of tangent line to connect 2 circles. (I am following and trying to recreate the ratchet head demo) After I draw the 2 circles, and attach the 2 tangent lines on either side, and try to "Extrude Solid" , it says "Gaps detected in profile.

If I zoom right in to see and verify that the lines are not actually touching the circles, and then zoom back out, and try to "extrude solid" again, it works. It is as if the zooming in and out corrects the problem.


Any ideas why this is happening?

Be sure you have Work Plane in your Snaps. Maybe you could post a file so someone else can confirm the message or figure out what is going on.

Could is have been possible that you selected other lines (not part of the extrusion profile) by accident then when you extruded it had lines that did not form a connected profile?
