The Density of steel is 7,85 and stainless steel 7,9. But SharkCAD think all kinds of steel have the same density 7,833? This is not 100%.

I edited the "C:\Program Files\Punch! Software\SharkCAD 10\Environ\Materials.ini" This works. But the values are all in pound/in³, i needed the calculation kg/dm³ /27,679949551673. And dont try to change the names, this works only with the english original names, but the values can be changed.

I've added loads into mine, use it for call outs and standards for nuts and stuff like that. Quite handy, bit tricky to edit the document, need to match the numbers up correctly otherwise they don't show in the list properly.

I think the best way is to request a data sheet from the steel supplier,
if this needs to be that accurate.
I purchase small quantities from McMaster-Carr, they list most of their
steel at .28 or 7750 including most of their tool steel.
Stainless steel at .29 or 8027.
Shark will display grams/dm3, as well as lbs/in3.

What numbers? A german name is impossible. But i edited the values.

You have to list them at the start of the materials file, and then that ties in lower down where you add the density

I made this but have forget the number (=5) how stupid... Now it works.

SAE 1020=1
SAE 4130 normalized=2
SAE 4130=3
SAE 4140=4
Edelstahl 18-10=5
