ViaCAD PRO 11, PC Build 1417 unable to dimension included angle, MTS.
Countersunk Hole.
Maybe just a PC thing, or also on Mac?

I can use the angle dimension on a section view ok. Have you tried using smart dimension and holding shift? Works both was for me.

Cheers

Thanks for trying, does work on a section view.
No special file, just a block with a countersunk hole.
Wanted to see if the promised countersink feature will
ever work in my lifetime.
So far it isn't working.

It's supposed to give you an 82 degree countersink when you enter 41 degrees.
Here is an old post explaining what was promised.

I'll check it out tomorrow for you. Don't recall seeing drill point in the data entry window only in the inspector box after the hole is in

The drill point works in SharkCAD Pro, but not the countersink input.

Yep, 41 x 2 is 98...…….

Also tried it out. Now in certain standards you are not allowed to dimension to hidden details. The place I work for will bounce back any drawings dimensioned to hidden lines. Maybe this is the case here? I have shown the hidden hole and it won't allow me to dimension. Section view it, and it's fine

Yeah, I thought it also when I so Larry's screenshot, but it seemed to me too clever for SharkCad :-)

Also had many situations when I cooperated with University of Technology they didn't want accept drawings inconsistent with standards. It didn't concern only dimensioning of hidden lines but also line weight, closed dimension chains, locations of views, style of arrows...

Sometimes it easier to dimension hidden hole or object instead of drawing another view/section but there are people he treat technical norms very seriously.

Me too! I wouldn't say, although someone can correct me if I'm wrong, this was intentional!

I probably should have said 'VERIFY', any way you look at it if you
enter 41 degrees it should give an included angle of 82 degrees,
I was just giving it a quick check.

Oh WOW, now it's really intuitive, and crystal clear, if I want an 82 Degree
countersink, all I have to enter is 49 Degrees.
The Tips and Tricks example is also very helpful for everyone
using 86 Degree fasteners.

Sad, really. Almost as sad as the useless Symbols.

Brilliant! I always wondered why those crappy symbols, especially the welding ones can't go on a drop down menu like the gd and t stuff. Would be much better!

Maybe better to spend one hour, draw the most needed symbols, place them on a invisible layer near sheet' frame and Save it as template file. You can make in visible when You want and easily drop it when it is necessary.

Thanks, Magicart,
The symbols would only be useful in Model-to-Sheet
for me. I would want to use the Hole Tool, and place an
accurate, editable hole in a solid, and have it transfer to
Model-to-Sheet, and update when the Model changes.

All I was really asking for is what was promised for Version 11,
and I don’t think that’s going to happen.
I’ll just enter 49 Degrees for an 82 Degree countersink.
, and do the work arounds for simplified threaded holes.

SharkCAD Pro seems to be going backwards instead of forward.
Even Vellum3D had a correct Symbol, 25 years ago.
You need 82 Degrees, that’s what you get 82 Degrees.

I also asked for the SNAP TEXT to be edited for color and
size or be transparent for the PC.
I received only 1 response from the developers 15 years ago.

Shark is a great software, and I hope development continues.
