Hello,

i noticed, since some days ViaCad Pro 12 is available.
I think about upgrading to from 11pro to 12pro or to shark 12.
But my last experience was the upgrade to 11.
I upgraded but i still use Version 10 pro with power pack pro, because with Version 11 i have everyday some crashes,
with the same object i use in 10, without crashes.

So, can someone tell me, 12 is more stabil now ?
or maybe shark is more stabil ?

And, i wonder, why i alway have to reimport my settings for my technical sheets and my weight for my materials.
This should be able to keep it with an update.

Hope you have good news, so i will buy this update.

Hi Andreas,
I think the best bet would be to get hold of a full working Trial (14 days)
and check within your usual workflow, just my 2cts !

I upgraded from 10 to 12. I skipped v11, it was very bad. So far no problems vith v12. Punchcad removed the free trial, you may want to contact them and ask for it. I got it before it was removed but upgraded shortly after.

I agree that settings should be stored so they stay when a new build is installed. I suggested this to the developer years ago and he agreed. However nothing has changed there so far.

Those are big words, on my mac I have not had problems so far. I’m sure there are bugs to be discovered and fixed. I’m using SharkCad pro on the latest MacOS.

SharkCAD Pro v12 first look...
warning! "concept explorer", "render library" and "select mask" windows are useless, they cannot be manipulated or resized. I have pointed to similar problems since the version of ViaCAD Pro v9 but ... now it is worse

Bug update, I have seen several times now and reported that push/pull of faces stop working on certain models. I'll post here if this issue get fixed.

Update: development comfirms it's fixed in next build.

now i have the trial of shark and the trial of ViaCad 12
In Shark it is sometimes difficult to change the tools. For example if i used the mesh to analytic, the curser still stays with this tool.
It is not possible to change directly to the selection tool. First i have to select something else f.e.: splinetool, etc..

And ViaCad pro i will test the next days, but the trial is without Powerpack
so i hope Shark will become better, because this is with Powerpack.

I think, they should make the upgrade sheaper, when you come from ViaCad 11.
i bougt it and not realy used ViaCad 11. Most of the last month i used ViaCad 10, it was on my Mac more stabil.

has these important bugs already been fixed as reported many times:

How did you get your free trial ? When I tried with this address, I get error 404 !!! very frustrating !!!

I don't find value in going from vc pro 11 3d to vc pro 12 3d. I stopped at v11. I mean, if the upgrade was more on par with $150 for a full v12 pro 3d (all features), then I might do that, but as-is, the pricing for upgrade + additional features, seems like an unwise choice.
