Hello,
Can you try updating Shark to 12.0.7 (b1572) ?
I'm not on BigSur yet and I'm interested in having your feedback...

Then you want the .dmg file.

Good news (for me at least) - my SpaceMouse is working again on Big Sur using SharkCAD v12 build 1575 with 3DxWare 10.7 build 3291! Not sure where the bug/fix actually is but I'm a happy bunny. Now I can start using SharkCAD in earnest again.

Performance seems to be better too - much higher framerate when manipulating complex parts. So things are being fixed, I just wish there was better communication. A blog post for each new build containing a list of fixes, features and a download link would be great.

Thanks for the link.
For your information this b1575 has a major bug with Catalina : The concept explorer sub-layers are not opening or closing.
So I will update to Big Sur as it seems to work for you.

Hi Brian,

Yes you are missing information... like all of us.

I found 1575 on the link sent by LightBulbJim
As I mentioned it has a major bug on Catalina : concept explorer not working.

Ouch. Sub-layers are working here.

I should point out that that I found build 1575 by incrementing the number in the download URL until I got a 404. So at the time of writing it appears to be the most recent published build. I have no idea if it is intended for general consumption, is a buggy WIP, or something else.

Looks like there might be dark mode support in the works (click for full size):

My computer is a Mac (Mini) and I have been a Punch CAD ViaCad 12 user. Like other users, having upgraded to Mac OS Big Sur I can no longer fully open the ViaCad files. Some functions work sufficiently to show that the files still exist on the drive, but, in the absence of an update, the ViaCad 12 App is of no use to me. Is there now an available update, and how can it be obtained if so?

So ive been testing the update on BIGSUR and there are some problems,

1) Face Snapping doesnt work

2) (when adding dimensions then rotating the 3D part and adding an extra dimension is now duplicates the same dimension on an offset (yet trying to remove a dimension removes both)

3) when you have a somewhat complex part (I have an exhaust manifold) the rotation is anything but smooth, as I rotate the part I almost get screen tearing

4) when switching from 3D to 2D the tools menu on the left is displayed however when selecting a line the tools are not there, (the boxes are there but there are no tools in them)

my Mac Book spec is
2.4GHz 8 core i9
64GB 2667 MHz DDR4
AMD radeon Pro 5500 8GB graphics + Intel UHD grpahics 630 1536MB

are you guys having any similar issues ?

Just did some testing and here are my findings. I'm running SharkCAD 12 build 1576 on macOS 11.2.2. I have a 2020 13" MacBook Pro with Intel GPU.

1. Face snapping is working for me.

2. I get an extra dimension/rendering weirdness if I have perspective view enabled. If I switch to parallel projection it's ok. Kinda annoying.

3. Performance with complex parts has never been great for me, but I'm using an Intel GPU so I'm just happy that I can do 3D CAD at all :-). I will say that I usually run a scaled resolution ("more space" in display options), but if I switch it to default scaling then performance is much better. None of this is new with Big Sur for me - I had the same experience under Catalina.

4. I can't reproduce this problem.
