Hello,

Here is a problem that I have known for the Xenon.

Unable to do this, yet logical enough ...

See please the attach file.

This would be very useful for modeling watches.

Tim? Do you remember? I'm already asked, is there a evolution?
I watched your video for modeling the ring, but this goes with a circle base and is not valid with other tracks not based on the circle it seems.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards.

Antoine

You can still follow the instructions from Tims video, it will work for oval shapes and many others.

I made a quick test.

pic 01: created the sections and path.
pic 02: copied the sections onto a straight line (of correct length)
pic 03: Bend the solid to the oval path.

It would be nice if we could have multiple sections allowed on a sweep path. It would save a lot of time.

hello,

thank you for your prompt response.

But I find that your process is long and complicated.

Can you explain why the software does not want to do with guid skin solid please

(ACIS)?

Thank you in advance.

I would say it is a bug. The guides are not being used.

You could try the "Guide skin surface" which does follow the guides.

Try adding more guides.

Tim,

Could you, when time, please look into this.

Regards,

Hello Antoine,

I was looking at the "skin solid" in VC. If I enable the "Perpendicular skin" (see pic) it does conform to a more acceptable shape.

Could you try this option in Shark to see if it helps.

Hi,

It looks like a bug that has been fixed in an update to be released.
