Hello,

a demo for my problem or limitation to SharkFX.
The object (diamond) twist on the guide line.

It would be nice if Tim could implement a function of constraint guide to the normal of the surface

http://rapidshare.com/files/248058135/Faberg_.swf.zip

for memory:

clic and drag the .swf to your browser.

Please Tim? a suggestion, evolution?

Thanks and cordialy.

Antoine, your task is very specific for a general purpose design program. Can you use a mesh copy of your surface to define the surface normals, place one copy of your jewel at each latitude, then rotate/copy each about the axis, or rotate/copy all and delete those you don't require? I'm using VC3D, but Nick's movie about alignment with Shark makes me sure that the alignment tools in Shark would work fine with the facets of a mesh.

it's not just diamonds that need to be perpendicular to the face ...

should I show you examples of using this design?
