I have some gears from a toy rc-car gearbox, I want to rebuild.
I thought this would be an easy task with the new gear-tool in the powerpack of sharkcad 12.
But I don't get a proper result. The gear, the tool is creating, is way too big...

If I remember rightly the input needs to be in inches. Don't know why but when I tried this out years ago it was the issue then

Hello Kartoffel,
When the gear tool was introduced there was a confusion in units : mm were changed into inches.
It makes everything bigger with factor 25.4.
I thought this had been solved...

                I used this program now:
http://forestmoon.com/Software/GearDXF/ But in the end, it is very dissapointing for me, that the "gear-tool" has only basic parameters + the problem with the units...

This problem in this thread is a problem with relative and absolute values.
I have such a problem found i the sheet metal tool of MegaCAD. Wen i load there the imperial Models from Shark, i need in the Sheet Metal tool then values in Inches.
Switch the native system please to Millimeter because i have no possibility to change a 3D-Modal from Imperial in Millimeter. It stay everytime in Imperial, because the programs work with relative values, it doesn't matter until they work with absolute values.

Yeah, I had the same issue using the tool. Pitch was in inch on a metrical Shark.
Another online tool cool to explore may be to add some features in the Shark Gear Tool?
