Hello,

i downloaded a part of my city into blender,
exported as wavefront obj.
imported it into SharkCad V14.
so i have the houses and the terrain seperate.
Now i would like to make the terrain thicker.
I am a little lazy, because i could extrud every single surface.
is there any idea, how to thicken the whole terrain more smart?

Hi,
The Mesh Extrude tool reports an ACIS error but it seems to be a solution (see attached image) for a relative flat surface like this although the thickness will have some small variations.
For better results (more consistent thickness) it may be needed to convert the extruded mesh to a solid (change object type) and split with an infinite plane to get a flat bottom side and use the shell tool to remove the unwanted faces.
Kind regards
Danny

In V10 and V14, extrude mesh will extrude a complete mesh surface as one into a closed, manifold mesh capped at both ends with the original if there's no selfintersection. It'll participate in solid mesh Booleans, subtracting a mesh block trims it to length. I don't know if there are limitations for facet numbers or other considerations. It works great, Tim and IMSI should be highlighting it.
