Hello,

I am a newbie to this forun so apologize if I am not posting correctly. I am a relatively new user to TurboCAD Mac Designer 16. I am here because I was told it mirrors PunchCAD, ViaCAD, SharkCAD more than TC for windows.

Most of work is architectural from home deigns to docks, decks, seawalls etc. My issue is trying to take my full size drawing and scale it to fit on a 17" x 11" (Arch B, Ledger) paper.

I have no problem scaling the drawing, but I can't seem to get it to print on the title block.

I have tried with the title block as a layer in the drawing and also as a separate file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Jim

In a Draw View you can scale the drawing, and you can also do this under File > Page Layout. Beforehand, you should set up Print Setup exactly to your paper size. Note that the preset MTS templates always affect Page Layout and scale incorrectly. So after using MTS, simply check Page Layout to make sure the scale there is 1. Under Page Layout you can also move the drawing into the printable area.

With your drawing displayed, click on "Model to Sheet". Draw a fence around the drawing and in the popup select "A-landscape-topview.vc3", in scale select "Best Fit" at the bottom of the dropdown. Uncheck "Ignore curves, Walls, Text, dimensions" then OK. This will create a single top view and your drawing will be visible inside the title block. Click inside the view and a box of red dashed lines will popup surrounding the drawing, right click inside this box and select "Zoom Extents", this will enlarge the drawing a bit and make a better fit inside the title box.

Under the file menu select "Page Layout". Uncheck "Preserve Annotations Sizes" and check "Overlay drawing in preview". Select "Page Setup". In the Paper Size dropdown select ARCH-B size sheet if you have this already set up, if not select "Manage custom sizes". ARCH-B is 12" X 18" so enter width 12 and length 18 then set .5" margins on all four sides giving you an 11" X 17" sheet. Select the + sign on the bottom left of the box and save ARCH-B to the list of page sizes. Click "OK". Click on "Landscape" then "OK" again.

You should be back at the "Page Layout" box. You will see in the preview window your title block without the drawing that's normal. Click on "Fit to Area" and "Aline Center" then "OK". You can now edit the title block as needed. Under the "File" menu select "Print", in the upper left corner your drawing as it will be printed is shown. If all looks good then click on "print".
