Folks---
I'm new to CAD, using VC 2D/3D V6, build 777.

I've setup a custom shortcuts set so r=right view, t=top, i=isometric, etc.

Mostly it works great, but it seem's to randomly quit working. Going to File-Shortcuts shows it still there, but I don't know how to reactivate it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks--Dudley

Hi, Dudley

Does the caps lock get bumped on?, What are you using Windows or Mac?

If its windows minimize ViaCAD , and then maximize, or switch between ViaCAD and another open program, and back again.

Also holding down ctrl and shift while clicking and hold mouse button while dragging a window will zoom in or out, depending which way you zoom, (look in the user manual for "in stream zoom" doing this also resets when the view shortcuts or the rotate get stuck.

Regards
Jason

Thanks, Jason for the quick help,

I'm using Windows XP SP2.

I can't try your suggestions yet because the shortcuts are working again.... maybe because I switched to/from the Forum to ask for help??? So perhaps your switch application suggestion fixed it.

Dudley, have you cleaned your registry recently? This usually irons out any bumps on windows xp.

Also, you at sp2? Get up to date! :D

Don't forget to get the latest VC patch, too. Last i saw/updated to was v 838. Ask Tim via private e-mail to send you the link. It should help you avert other issues already resolved and make your experience more enjoyable.

Also, ask for the VC 6 Pro link so you can play with it. Some don't see the need, but for me even just a handful of the differences are worth it. When i'm less resourceful or tired, it helps to have a few extra tools that Pro has so i don't have to become inordinately inventive just to do things such as trim a surface with another surface.... Others here can chime in...
