PrecisionPoint Relative Polar? (#5039)

Hi all I'm new at ViaCAD and have a question to PrecisionPoint Relative Polar: When I draw a line "1" with 45 degrees (startpoint e.g. x:20mm y:20mm; endpoint x:40mm y:40mm) and then specify the PrecisionPoint Relative Polar P1 at endpoint of line "1" and P2 at startpoint of line "1", then a line "2" starts at startpoint of line "1" with polar Angle 90 degrees and a distance like e.g. 10mm don™t work like expected. What I™m doing wrong or is it a bug in ViaCAD9 Build 1104? Thanks a lot. Many greetings Frank

The selection of P1 and P2 are important, the P1 has to be the startpoint of the line you are using to work as expected.

Hi Jason,
Thanks for your reply, but I have not yet understood the PrecisionPoint Relative Polar function correctly.
An example:
I draw the black line 1 and would like to draw the green line with the PrecisionPoint Relative Polar function.
When I select the blue P1 and P2, the result of PrecisionPoint Relative Polar function (with a distance of 10mm and polar angle of 90 degrees) is the blue line.
When I select the red P1 and P2, the result of PrecisionPoint Relative Polar function (with a distance of 10mm and polar angle of 90 degrees) is the red line.
What is the right way to draw the green line with the PrecisionPoint Relative Polar function?
Thanks in advance
Frank

i can confirm the problem with relative polar. it seems to be a bug.
also in the precision point window the selection of a value by click on its label is not correct (see picture).
this malfunction is occuring in some other data-input windows as well, e.g. in grid settings (some labels are pointing to the wrong field or do not act on clicks)

I think this is a bug. I made a post about it back in early 2012 http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=4196. That was version 7 Pro. There was no interest/response back then.

Did anyone post this to the bug tracker?

I didn't know there was a bug tracker. I would think that the developers would follow this forum. I even posted in 2 different areas. It's not like this forum has a ton of traffic.
