Using the bend tool is there any way of predicting which side of the bend line will bend up (or down)

Billbedford, I agree with you. The code has a head or tail routine:( JL

I've had that same issue. I feel like I finally figure it out, and then the next time it does something different!

I always think of it as the magic tool that you have to be very nice to. To call it temperamental would be charitable. Often I find an object will bend if I view it from a certain angle, and stroke the line just the right length in the right direction. Stroke it in the other direction and the bend will fail. Changing view and stroke direction sometimes lets me bend a solid that will not bend in another view or direction. Often I end up re-building the part (usually simple primitives) and the new part will bend, and the old one wont. When the tool works, it is incredible what it can do. I am currently working on a pair of headphones and the bend tool lets me create a headband profile, extrude it from the center out and then bend it to let me try all sorts of variations very easily by changing the length of the band, as well as the radius and degree of bend.
