I can not create a smooth surface solid using the guide skin solid function in Shark FX.

Any suggestions?

File attached as example.

Hi GK,

The curves you are using are not smooth, so that is being translated to the surface. Try to keep the curves smooth and with minimal control points. I have quickly redrawn the curves and made a Guide skin surface as example (I only have VC pro installed, so do not have the Guide skin solid tool. but the output should be the same).

Steve, I had to do some clean up work to get this to work. Should be a good example on how to get this feature to work nicely.

I changed all the imported curves to Bezier, changed the vector directions on the horizontal curves to be consistent in one direction, joined these curves with a small tolerance .0001.

Attached is the file.

Steve, another example created in Shark FX of a complex bottle shape. Had to do some surfacing to get the shape of the top section of the bottle to look nice. I changed the curves at the top section to Interpolate Splines and made a Surface with Guides.
The neck finish is a STEP file import from Rhino 3D.
I'm working with build 731 of FX. Going to download the update as soon as I can.

Question. Is the beta 5.5 version of Shark FX worth a try. Or should I wait for the final release of the update?

Hi GK,

Go with the latest build 838 I would not class it as a Beta, it is a bug fix/tweak release.
