How do I seperate the attached DWG drawing into seperate layers or parts to create a diplay object?
I would like to trun it into a STL File so I can change all the colors on all the parts. The DWG file is from GE Co.I can not get it to work for me:mad:

Thank You George

Hello George

Sorry but it's just not going to be possible to split out all components, the file just contains a single mesh object. You will need to go back to the file's author and ask for original file with separate components.

All the best
Nick

Hello George

Sorry but your posts are unclear, are you saying you loaded .dwg into TurboCAD then exported it from TurboCAD as a .3ds and then loaded it back into TurboCAD and exported a collection of .stl files?

Are the TurboCAD exported .stl files what you are looking for?

Best regards
Nick

I took the dwg into TurboCAD and exported it as a .3ds and then loaded it back into ViaCad and exported it as a Stl File.I can not get all the layers to
change the texture on each one.I am trying to take it into e-Cabinet program as a Stl Files and change the textures of each one in e-Cabinets

Thank You Nick for taking the time with me

George,

try this one. The DWG is a piece of crap, so it won't get any better. But at least the parts are separated...

Bernd
