I'm evaluating Concepts Unlimited and would like to know if placing imported images as decals or logos onto models in CU are possible as I can't figure out how to. Thx

Agreed it's not the most simple of proceedures but it is certainly possible. I have knocked up a quick movie to illustrate how to add an image with a stencil as this is a question that crops up time and time again.

Thanks for the demo, Nick! Really appreciate the quick response. A little complicated, but it works. Cheers!

Hi Nick! Once I place the custom decal, is there a way to edit its properties; reflection, difussion, transparency, etc? It seems I can only adjust its size, rotation, and resolution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

It takes those settings from the underlying surface or solid. So if you want a label for example to be a different texture to the glass bottle it is on you will need to create an offset surface of say 0.1mm from the face of the bottle, trim it to the correct shape and then change it's material. Nick, That is great. Nice tutorial. I have not been using layers in Photoshop and that is a much better way to do it. I also have been framing my images in red. apparently, there is no need. Thanks Much, Art MacIntell Shark FX
