Hi,
I want to make a pig tail coil with a draft.
With the pipe tool it's OK
With the sweep tool with draft I get a bad tip.
Though the "check object" seems to be correct, I cannot boolean subtract it without error.
Tweaking the parameters often leads to a crash...

It works OK if you set the circle to be normal to the end of the spiral curve, as it is in your good example. I don't know if this counts as a bug or not. Martin.

I also have been having problem with sweep along one rail even following exactly as Tim did in the video (which is great) having problems getting the shape to be at the proper relation to the helix coil. This is being done with making inside threads for backlash nuts. Also will drift off a true Z or Y axis, though this might be me and have to look at the angle to make sure. Thanks for any input. It is still a wonderful program compared to what I was working with. Michael

To me, any operation that gives a deformed and unusable solid is a kind of a "bug".
I agree it's a light bug because workarounds do exist...

But sometimes a sweep where the profile in not normal to the curve is what is wanted . The operator, therefore must be given the choice of how to orientate all the elements.

If the sweep isn't normal to the path, use a second rail rather than expecting the program to read your mind.

No I didn't ( drafting the sweep) but I noticed there is an option box that pops up giving choices like allow self intersecting and some other useful options. That was new to me.
Good One & thanks!
