I'm sorry, this has been reported many times :

Skin a solid with only 2 simple profiles : a circle and an ellipse...

It creates a buggy solid, looking transparent.
Using this solid in further boolean operations generates bugs & crashes.
---> I just lost one hour of work...
My usual workaround that I forgot this time was to stitch the solid.

But stitching the solid kills history...

Tim, help !

I tried all the advanced options : none helpful !
Strange : unticking "Auto-Align sections" gives an error " "self intersecting or cusping surface found"...

Cusping ?

Obviously size matters :
With a bigger ellipse it works (multiplying the minor & the major dim by 10).
Sorry, I do small things...

Just try to extrude one of the tip flat surface and boolean add it to the skinned section.
You see what I mean ?

Repeated, found, and fixed in 788.

>>But stitching the solid kills history...

Stitching (not check object repair) creates a history item when you select an existing solid. When you select an existing solid, it repairs using current options setting.
