This is an old bug, still here.

-Make a helix along z axis
-Sweep one rail a profile on the helix (ie. to make a screw).
-Select all, and move along xy plane.

---> The swept solid inflates like my eyes

I have to remove links everytime I want to move a screw.
Please address.

JL

I still cannot upload anything. I am alone ?

With your file, I was able to recreate your issue, but as you can see with my file this does not happen. We must be doing something different. I followed your directions again.

-Create a helix along the z-axis
-one rail sweep an object around the helix
-Select all
-Move along the xy plane
File Attachment(s):
spring-screw bug.cu (282kb) downloaded 5 time(s).

JLM, after further investigation into your drawing, I found a random point attached to the swept profile, when i removed this point your issue is gone.

-Go to your concepts explorer
-Select the swept profile
-On the feature tab expand part_6447352
-Expand sweep-6447322
-Delete the point
-Close the concepts explorer
-Select All
-Translate

I do not know why this point was causing the issue, that is another investigation.

Thanks Todd,

I agree, as you say it works.
Thank you for pointing out that point.

Mysterious point :
- I didn't create it.
- It is not visible in the window, only in the tree.
- Select mask doesn't catch it.

Other points :
- copy the solid with history doesn't copy the history.
- translate-copy doesn't copy the issue...
